All partners of the project will participate to its organisation, with Hastings Trust leading the group.
The French partners will be there the day before for work groups and study visits.

Cette journée se déroulera en 2 temps :
- 9h00 - 12h00 : un comité de pilotage dans lequel les partenaires signataires feront un point sur le projet
- 14h00 - 16h00 : un comité d'orientation ouvert à toutes les organisations associées au projet, qui leur permettra de se familiariser avec le projet et le connaître plus en détail

This day will have 2 phases:
- 9:00 - 12:00 am: a steering committee where signing partners will work on the project progress
- 2:00 - 4:00 pm: an orientation committee open to all the structures linked to the project, where they will learn about the project in detail

L'objectif de ce projet : fournir aux bailleurs sociaux français et britanniques des systèmes permettant de diviser par quatre la consommation d'énergie dans le logement social individuel.
The aim of this project: to incorporate technologies within social housing in France and the UK that will quarter energy consumption.

Au programme de cette matinée, présentation générale du volet pédagogique (l'approche locataires de logements sociaux), volet recherches comportementales et débat sur les ouvertures possibles vers l'éducation nationale et les projets européens.

The ECO OPEN HOUSES event - Brighton

The event will take place from 8th to 11th September 2011 (Thursday to Sunday).

The official opening by the local MP Caroline Lucas will be at 10:00 on Monday 5th September. Low Carbon Trust is looking at opening up 15 to 20 houses as part of the project, in which the French partners will be an active part, as well as the English partners from Hastings.

Cet événement aura lieu du jeudi 8 au dimanche 11 septembre 2011 à Brighton.

L'ouverture officielle par Caroline Lucas, députée, aura lieu à 10h00 le lundi 5 septembre. Low Carbon Trust devrait ouvrir 15 à 20 maisons dans le cadre du projet ECO Fab, une action dans laquelle les partenaires français de Basse Normandie et anglais de Hastings auront également une part active.

Le projet ECO Fab continue, dans une deuxième phase "ECO Fab 2".
Ce nouveau projet fait suite au premier, et s'élargit, tant sur le plan partenarial que sur celui des actions qui vont y être menées.
Le projet a été déposé le 11 octobre dernier. Réponse attendue pour mars 2011.

The ECO Fab project carries on in a second phase called "ECO Fab 2", with more partners and more actions to develop.
The project was submitted on 11th October. We are waiting for an answer next March 2011.

Pathway to Construction and Amblie, 2 complementary, transchannel and sunny events...

Les partenaires franco-anglais ont participé en nombre aux 2 forums, visités par un large public prêt à mettre la main à la pâte de l'éco-construction.
Des ateliers, des conférences et des informations sur les formations et les techniques de l'éco-construction et de l'éco-rénovation ont attiré un public varié, des deux côtés de la Manche.

The franco-english partners have largely participated to both events, also attended by a wide public ready to pitch in eco-construction.
Workshops, conferences and information on training and eco-building and retrofitting have attracted a varied public, on both sides of the Channel.

ECOFAB 1 Final Seminar/ / Seminar Finale

On the 7th and 8th of December we held the final seminar of ECOFAB 1 at the CRDF in Caen. Over twenty participants from South East England, and Normandy reviewed what had been achieved in the pilot ECOFAB project, and made plans for 2010 and 2011. We discussed the ECOFAB events; the young people's and artisan's challenge; training and the work of new partners such as 'The Bridge' Community Centre; and Sussex Coast College.

We also discussed how to communicate our work through a dedicated ECOFAB website.

Le 7 et le 8 Décembre, nous avons organisé le séminaire final du ECOFAB 1 au CRDP à Caen. Plus de vingt participants du Sud Est de l'Angleterre et la Normandie ont fait le bilan des résultats du projet ECOFAB pilote, et préparé le projet 2010 et 2011. Nous avons discuté des événements; des défis jeunes et artisan, la formation et le travail de nouveaux partenaires tels que 'The Bridge' Community Centre, et le Sussex Coast College.

Nous avons également discuté de la façon de communiquer nos travaux à travers un site dédié Ecofab.

Visit to Low Carbon Trust - Brighton

On Monday 8th of June the ECOFAB partners from Normandy and Hastings went over to visit the Low Carbon Trust (LCT) in Brighton. The LCT is a pioneering organisation, dedicated to finding innovative ways to build for the future. Their headquarters in Brighton is an 'Earthship' - an amazing building constructed mainly from discarded car tyres and earth! The building is designed to be as self-sufficient in every way possible, with minimal impact on the environment, either in construction or use. Inspiration was taken from amazing buildings in the deserts of New Mexico. The building itself is a great educational tool, and a very appropriate place to have our ECOFAB steering committee meeting. Thanks to director Mischa Hewitt for the hospitality.

Le lundi 8 de Juin les partenaires Ecofab de Normandie et de Hastings allé pour visiter le Low Carbon Trust (LCT) à Brighton. Le LCT est une organisation pionnière, dédié à trouver des façons novatrices de bâtir pour l'avenir. Leur siège à Brighton est une 'Earthship - un bâtiment étonnant construit principalement à partir de pneus de voiture mis au rebut et de la terre! Le bâtiment est conçu pour être aussi auto-suffisant en toutes les manières possibles, avec un impact minimal sur l'environnement, tant dans la construction ou l'utilisation. Inspiration a été prise de bâtiments étonnants dans les déserts du Nouveau Mexique. Le bâtiment lui-même est un formidable outil pédagogique, et un lieu très approprié d'avoir notre comité de pilotage Ecofab réunion. Merci au réalisateur Mischa Hewitt pour l'hospitalité.

We finished the day with a visit to the amazing Brighton Pavillion, not exactly an 'Eco-Construction' but an 'experimental building all the same, and of great interest to the French craftsmen.

Nous avons terminé la journée par une visite au Pavillon de l'étonnante Brighton, pas exactement un «éco-construction» mais un bâtiment d'expérimentation néanmoins, et un grand intérêt pour les artisans français.

Visit to the Ore Valley

On Sunday the 7th of June our group paid a visit to the community of the Ore Valley. We were welcomed at the Bridge Community Centre by Centre Manager Julie Sutton, HBC Neighbourhood Worker Jan Papworth, and volunteers Chantal Lass and Clare Power. We were given a tour of the Valley and an expalanation of the social and environmental challenges it faces by Community Worker Tania Turner - and a descriptions of our plans to revitlise the valley.
We then had a tour of the Bridge Community Centre which was designed on cutting edge sustaiability principles. After a splendid Sussex lunch prepared by our hosts we joined in a straw bale building course being held at the Bridge by 'Amazonails'. Nicholas Taplitzxy took part and was able to exhange his expertise in straw bale building with the group.
Despite intitial concerns that there might be a mismatch between the interests of Amblie - a rural community - and the Ore Valley, a seemingly very differetn urban community the group were impressed by how much in fact they had in common. There were discussions about how the group could support the Bridge to have an educational community garden - on the basis of what has been achieved at the 'Jardin des Marettes' in Amblie.

Le dimanche, le 7 Juin notre groupe a effectué une visite à la communauté de la "Ore Valley". Nous avons été accueillis par la gestionaire de la Centre Communautaire du "The Bridge", Julie Sutton, HBC Jan Papworth travailleur des voisinage, et les bénévoles Chantal Lass et Claire Power. Nous avons reçu la visite de la vallée et une expalanation des défis sociaux et environnementaux auxquels elle est confrontée par Tania Turner - et une description de nos plans de revitlise la vallée.
Nous avons eu une visite guidée du Centre communautaire qui a été conçu sur les principes du developpement durable. Après une splendide Sussex déjeuner préparé par nos hôtes, nous avons rejoint une cours de construction en paille en balles de "Amazonails». Nicholas Taplitzxy ont pris part et a été en mesure d'échange de son expertise dans la paille en balles de construction avec le groupe.
Malgré initiale préoccupations qu'il pourrait y avoir un décalage entre les intérêts des Amblie - une communauté rurale - et la "Ore Valley", d'apparence très different communauté urbaine du groupe ont été impressionnés par la quantité, en fait, ils avaient en commun. Il ya eu des discussions sur la façon dont le groupe pourrait aider "The Bridge" d'avoir une jardin éducative de communauté - sur la base de ce qui a été réalisé au 'Jardin des Marettes "dans Amblie.

Pathway to Construction

On June the 6th we had our first UK event - the 'Pathway to Construction' in Alexandra Park. Local building firms work with local schools in Hastings, Bexhill and Rye to build prototypes of the buildings of the future.
The event was a great social occasion, and brought together people of all ages to learn, to join in, and to be entertained by some great young bands!
The competition was judged by our partners Anna Francis form Bioregional, and Nicholas Teplitxky from France who is a specialist in building houses from straw bales.
Every one of the entrants impressed the judges, and our French guests commented on how enthusiastic our local building firms were in backing the scheme. The were also impressed by the level of youth engagement, and the inter-generational nature of the event.

Sur la 6e Juin nous avons eu notre premier cas du Royaume-Uni - la «voie de la construction" dans Alexandra Park. Entreprises de construction locales de travail avec les écoles locales dans le environs de Hastings, Bexhill Rye construire des prototypes de bâtiments de l'avenir.
L'événement a été une grande occasion sociale, et a rassemblé des personnes de tous âges d'apprendre, de participer, et de se divertir par certains grands groupes de jeunes!
Le concours a été jugé par nos partenaires Anna Francis de Biorégionale, et Nicholas Teplitxky de la France qui est un spécialiste de la construction de maisons de paille.
Chacun des participants a impressionné les juges, et nos amis français commentaires sur l'enthousiasme et la manière dont nos entreprises de construction étaient en soutenant le régime. L'ont également été impressionnés par le niveau d'engagement des jeunes, et l'inter-générationnel nature de l'événement.

Welcome to Hastings/ Bienvenu a Hastings

On the 5th of June a group of our partners from Normandy arrived to be greeted by the Mayor of Hastings, Councillor Maureen Charlesworth. The Deputy Mayor of Amblie, Claudine Taillefer made a speech of thanks and apologised that the Mayor was unable to attend. He had rather a good excuse - he had to remain in Normandy to welcome visitors to the 65th anniversary of the D-Day landings, including Presidents Obama and Sarkozy, and Prime Minister Brown and the Prince of Wales...
Gifts were exchanged, followed by a seminar on youth engagement in the ECOFAB project, and an explanation of the problems facing young people in Hastings by Dan Ryan.

Le 5 Juin un groupe de nos partenaires de la Normandie est arrivé d'être accueilli par le maire de Hastings, conseiller Maureen Charlesworth. Le maire adjoint de Amblie, Claudine Taillefer a prononcé un discours de remerciements et présente ses excuses que le maire n'a pas été en mesure d'y assister. Il avait plutôt une bonne excuse - il a dû rester en Normandie pour accueillir les visiteurs à la 65e anniversaire du débarquement du jour J, dont le président Obama et le Prince de Galles ...
Les cadeaux ont été échangés, suivie par un séminaire sur l'engagement des jeunes dans le Ecofab projet, et une explication des problèmes que rencontrent les jeunes dans le ville de Hastings par Dan Ryan.

Our first event in Amblie/ Premiere événement Amblie

The first ECOFAB event in Amblie Normandy. A visiting group from Hastings Borough Council, Hastings Trust, Hastings College, The Low Carbon Trust and Bioregional spent three days participating in our first Eco-Construction event.
We were shown a very warm welcome by the Mayor - Jean-Pierre Lavisse, the inhabitants of the village, local artisans and architects - and Alain Tambour the GRETA network.

Le premier événement dans Ecofab au Commun d'Amblie, Normandie. Un groupe de visiteurs de Hastings Borough Council, Hastings Trust, Hastings College, The Low Carbon Trust Bioregional a passé trois jours à participer à notre premier événement éco-construction.
Nous avons récu un accueil très chaleureux par le Maire - Jean-Pierre Lavisse, les habitants du village, les artisans locaux, les architectes - et le réseau GRETA. Merci à tous!
